The topo model below was produced using the 3D Topography Printer (3DTP). This technology uses an articulating 3-axis print head to literally print an aerial or satellite photo of the land mass directly onto a 3-dimensional rigid foam topography. These 3DTP models can be made as large as desired, with each section of the model being 4ft x 8ft in size. Our client provides the topographical data. The aerial photo data can be obtained from the USGS satellite database, or from an actual fly-over photo of the site.
The topo models below are 3D Printed using the Solid Laser Printing process. Our client provided us with the 2D plan that included the topography lines of the property in question. With that data, we created a printable 3D computer model. Once approved, we printed the model on the world's largest factory-based Solid laser printing machine. The final step is to apply the custom color scheme as specified by our client. The result is a stunning and accurate topo model in under 2 weeks.
